When a new technology is implemented in an organization or when a major change occurs, most often the employees will resist to that change and will not easily adapt to the situation. Unfortunately, such resistance can be scary for the company who might perceive a short-term financial loss. Moreover, the whole situation can be seen as a major obstacle for progress and a great source of negative energy. The question then arises: how can we minimize resistance to change?

1- SHARING THE INFORMATION
First of all, it is very important to include the employees in the change process by sharing the necessary information. It is equally interesting to gather their opinion on the subject. By doing so, you will allow the workforce to be heard and then have access impactful information. The result of explaining the steps of the upcoming changes and capturing the feedback, the resistance to change will be less strong and the adaptation will be easier.

2- THE TRAINING
Being aware that the staff will have to adapt to a new technology or to a new process, it is important to train the employees for the upcoming new functions. Besides, a trained employee is a mobilized and motivated employee. Indeed, the more a worker is aware and knowledgeable of his role and responsibilities, the higher the retention and success rates will be for whole the organization.

3- THE TRAINER
The trainer plays a major role in the uncertainty reduction and the change resistance. A good trainer will help the workers adjust their behavior towards the changes by raising their awareness about their skills and capabilities. He, or she, must quickly identify the person hindering the process and influencing the other participants.
The trainer has to promote the advantages of this new working method. The employees have to understand the benefits of such change and at what degree their work will be facilitated. When the employee’s work is affected by the change, you must absolutely take the time to answer his questions. In other words, the trainer has to act as a change agent as well as an instructor.

In conclusion, it is very important to be patient and take the time needed to successfully implement a new technology or a to integrate a drastic change in an organization.
